Wildrose, Death Valley National Park 11-25
After Panamint Dunes, I checked out Wildrose Campground. Which is free! My kind of campground! Unfortunately, the drinking water had been capped off, so I couldn’t refill there. The shortest road in (Trona-Wildrose) was closed due to flood damage, and possibly the campground was quieter than usual as a result…for NP campground, it was nice and quiet, with most folks except myself staying only one night.
When I left, I decided to drive up to see the charcoal kilns. Unbeknownst to me, I ran over something on the way to the kilns that punched a hole in one of my tires and had to stop and inflate it about 6 times before I made my way back to Stovepipe Wells where I could get some help.
Very cool cloud I saw while walking near Wildrose.
